Canyon Heights Academy inspires students to be generous, to see other people and the world around them with a heart that says, “What can I do to help?” With a series of natural disasters striking so closely together, the Challenge Club at CHA decided to take action. They organized a relief drive for those impacted by the recent hurricanes and earthquakes.
Challenge Club members promoted the event throughout the school and collected donations at drop-off. Requested donations included school supplies, cleaning supplies, socks and household linens. Each item was marked with a hopeful message such as “Be Strong” and “We Are Praying For You.” The donations were then sorted and filled seven large shipping boxes! Boxes were then shipped to Florida and Texas for distribution there locally as well as to the Caribbean and Mexico.
