Canyon Heights Academy Girls Volleyball Team A finished the season in an unprecedented shut-out of the opposition. The A team is comprised of players from grades 7-8 who are highly skilled and play on a competitive level. According to Head Coach Joseph Nguyen, the team tried their best in every game, were driven and determined to win. Many of their wins involved winning “big.” Against one tough opponent, they won in two games (scoring the required 50 points) and only missed one serve! Many of them have played volleyball for CHA for four years.

The Girls Volleyball B team is also a team from grades 7-8, but their focus with the game is to gain playing experience and further develop their skills to the competitive level. They won one game and lost others in some very tight playing against stronger teams. The A and B teams practiced together so each player could train to her potential.

The Girls Volleyball C team lost their first game and went on to win the next 14 games in a row! They placed 1st in the St. Francis Cabrini Fiesta Tournament. Their winning streak was the result of the discipline and training they receive each week.

Overall, Coach Nguyen commented that the players, the season and the record are really remarkable for the teams and the school. His desire is to instill a passion for volleyball in the players.

CHA rostered 31 players on these 3 teams — almost all girls in Middle School played. Coach Natasha Pedjase assisted with the A and B teams. The C team was led by Coach Myhanh Le with technical coaching from Coach Matthew Nguyen.

Congratulations to our volleyball players and coaches! Go Cardinals!
