Kindergarten

Kindergarten is the transition year between our preschool and lower school. Kindergarten uses many of the same Montessori materials first discovered in preschool in more advanced ways. Kindergarten is the beginning of traditional teacher-led instruction. Students study with a variety of hands-on materials and learning methods.

The curriculum is well integrated. For example, when students learn about the continents, they also learn about different composers, music, dance, zoology of regions, food, clothing, and history. When they study currency, they learn about the history of currency, our presidents, and simple concepts related to economics. Even birthday celebrations include history, geography and astronomy.
