Fine Arts
In addition to strong academics, the curriculum at Canyon Heights Academy also includes rich fine arts programming. Through art and music, students can enjoy learning experiences outside the traditional classroom, discover new passions, build cultural sensitivity, and celebrate their God-given talents.
“Through his ‘artistic creativity’ man appears more than ever ‘in the image of God.’”
- St. John Paul II, Letter to Artists, 1999

Art
Art enhances the intellectual, spiritual, human, and apostolic formation of every child. Through art, students respond to their innate call to create, reflecting the beauty of the Divine Creator.
Canyon Heights Academy students attend a weekly art class as part of their regular academic program. They explore art production, art history, art appreciation, and art criticism. As a result, students can cultivate the essential skills needed for them to both appreciate and practice art.
- Lower school: Fundamentals of art and design with a focus on line, shape, and form
- Fifth grade: Intensive instruction on the elements of art and principles of design
- Middle school: Special projects using traditional and non-traditional mediums, building on previously mastered art techniques
